Havana Club Tributo rum is a blend that includes rum aged in cognac barrels. Tributo was created by three generations of Cuban rum masters, among them Don José Navarro, the first Cuban rum master; Asbel Morales, master of Cuban rum; and Salomé Alemán, the first and only female teacher of Cuban rum. Each master selected a rare and extra-aged rum base that was deemed representative of their individual styles, which were first matured in the 1970s, 1990s and 2010. These were blended with a rum that has been matured by more than 25 years in French oak barrels. The Tribute has notes of oak and dried fruit on the nose, with flavors of vanilla, dried fruit and toasted almonds on the palate.
The Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas is a subtle Cuban cigar, a light-medium Prominente. For some, they say this is the best cigar in the world. This Double Corona has already confirmed its rank in the marketplace: it's a great smoke. The only complain that could be made about this cigar come from very seasoned aficionados who would say it might not be strong enough. As all vitolas from Hoyo de Monterrey this Doble Coronas (Double Coronas) is extremely well constructed. It has a smooth oily wrapper, a good draw and strong aromas. Every modern Habano has somehow been influenced by this amazing cigar, but it is in a league of its own. It is softer in touch and creamier than the Partagas Lusitanias and the Double Coronas from Punch, it appears also bigger when in hand.
The Montecristo Añejado the limited edition in age of at least two years. Aging is another attempt, only aging is taking place after cigars are rolled up, not in the form of raw tobacco. As for the cigars themselves, they look pretty good with various amounts of veins that fill the cigar in a fairly vibrant and bright wrapper.
The pure Por Larrañaga Panetela is a rare jewel indeed. With exceptional flavor, soft easy to draw, fantastic floral aroma. With enough complexity to keep you on your fingers.
The Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas is a spectacular medium-full Petit Corona. This cigar deserves more consideration, despite the fact that its big brother, the Specially Selected, gets all the attention. It is also suffering from the harsh competition from other Habanos like Partagas Petit Corona, Montecristo No.4, Bolivar Petit Coronas, Cohiba Siglo II, San Cristobal De La Habana El Principe, and Por Larranaga Petit Coronas which are all outsanding smokes. Give the Small Club Coronas a chance. You will be quite pleased.
The Cigarro Montecristo Petit Tubos comes in this fantastic cedar box brand of 10. This is one of the Montecristo that most knowledgeable beginners smoke when they know the brand, due to its soft drawing and softer flavors. It has a Marevas vitola, this Cuban cigar is perfect for smoking after a meal and enjoying it with a drink.
The Cohiba Secretos Maduro 5 are the top secret of the Maduro 5 series. They are considered the nirvana of the Cohíba cigar brand. Each roll is made from the finest Maduro leaves from the Vuelta Abajo district in Cuba. They are powerful cigars, loaded with pepper and earthy aromas with a smoke that lingers in the mouth. It is a full bodied smoke with a big heart for a cigar. It is like comparing a rich espresso with a simple filtered coffee. The upper leaves of the plants (called crowns) are picked later than normal to ensure that the tobacco is as rich and ripe as possible. Tobacco is fermented for a longer time to give more color and flavor to the leaf.
