The King of the Empire World, was originally founded by a German, Emilio Ohmstedt, who registered it in 1848 at the same time as the brand Sancho Panza. Following the death of Mr. Ohmstedt in the 1870s, the brand was taken over by Antonio Allones, a Spanish who came to live in Havana to work in a tobacco industry. The latter wanted to create a brand of high quality and with higher prices. To mark it, he named it El Rey del Mundo, in English: The King of the World.
The King of the Empire World, it contains 50 "Imperio". This vitola is actually a Rodolfo (54 x 180 mm), an unusual module for the brand. It has been specially selected by Habanos S.A. to mark the 170th anniversary of El Rey del Mundo brand. These 50 Habanos were produced "Totalmente a Mano with Tripa Larga" from an exquisite selection of San Juan y Martinez and San Luis leaves from Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Rio. When tasting, its mild flavour will fully satisfy the most demanding aficionados of the brand.
