It is only using tobacco from the most valuable area in Cuba, the famous Vuelta Abajo. This smoke packs all the typical Hoyo de Monterrey’s flavours into a small yet exclusive cigar, that is comparable to the 2012 Limited Editions. The construction is superb, it is fully handmade, its high level of quality is on par with any cigar out of La Casa del Habanos. Havana Club Añejo 3 Years is the result of mixing aged and aromatic spirits with extra light distillates, from sugar cane, obtaining a selection of young rums. This batch of rum is then left to rest in white oak barrels for 3 years and filtered through activated carbon.

Cohiba Maduro 5 Magico features a soft, warm and tempting smoke. There are notes of dark chocolate, coffee and some rich spices, sustained by the light sweetness of the rich, oily, Maduro wrapper. The cigar has more oomph and power than the Genies, perhaps to make up for the shortest smoke time.

The name Guantanamera should be quite easy to recognize for most people. It comes from the title of a famous song by the Cuban composer, Joseito Fernández in 1928. This was a very popular song around the world, especially during its push in the 1960s. As for the age of the brand, this is a fairly young cigar label, as it was only introduced to the world in 2002. Instead, Guantanmera cigars get their tobacco from Vuelta Arriba, the second most important tobacco region.
